You have probably heard of Invisalign, but you may not believe that a little piece of plastic is able to move your teeth. Let us assure you that it is possible. You can straighten your teeth without anyone noticing.
Invisalign aligners are made of medical grade plastic that is rigid enough to move your teeth, yet flexible enough to be comfortable when you take the trays in and out. Your teeth move as a result of pressure created between the aligners, attachments, and your teeth. By switching your aligners every two weeks to a new set, and visiting your dentist to have him apply tooth colored attachments as necessary, your teeth move incrementally into their new position. Invisalign can be used for a number of conditions including crowded teeth, spaced teeth, overbite, underbite, and crossbite. So every Invisalign case is uniquely tailored to fit the patient.
To create these unique cases, Dr. Bob takes a set of records to send to Invisalign, including impressions, x-rays, and photographs.
These records are then used by Invisalign to create a 3D representation of how your teeth may move during your treatment. This representation is called a ClinCheck movie. This will give you an idea of how many aligners will be needed for your treatment and about how long you will be in treatment. Once our office receives your ClinCheck movie, Dr. Bob will meet with you to go over any questions you have about your treatment.
From the moment you decide to go forward with Invisalign, our staff will be here to answer any questions you have and to help guide you through your treatment. Many of our staff members, including Dr. Bob, already experienced Invisalign treatment, and are excellent guides to help you understand what to expect while you are in treatment.
